Jill and Bethenny’s friendship divorce seems like it’s getting closer to being final. They’ve been separated all season, and while Bethenny seemed to want to work things out, this week, she’d had enough. So far, we’ve seen Bethenny repeatedly call Jill, approach her at public functions and arrange private meetings to try and bury the hatchet. But Jill walked away, insulted her and said the damage was too deep.
It seems like Bethenny finally got the message and decided to move on. She’s seeing new friends — like Alex. She’s treating herself nicely — like getting a good boyfriend. And she finally gets what she’s always wanted: an engagement ring. Unfortunately, as soon as Jill finds out about Bethenny’s engagement — and sees that all of the other housewives, even LuAnn, have made peace with Bethenny — Jill decides she wants to come back.
When Bethenny announced her engagement at a Gotham magazine party hosted by Kelly, everyone was super excited for her. But it was like a slap in the face to Jill. You could tell that it hurt Jill when she realized Bethenny really was moving on and making a life for herself … without her former friend. Jill talked about all the things friends do together for a big life event: planning the wedding, gushing about the ring. The only thing Jill could possibly do was compliment Bethenny’s sparkler. And Bethenny, who is clearly over Jill by now, didn’t want any of it.
