Robin Wright Penn Talks about "Reward" of Marriage
Gwyneth Paltrow catches flak for refusing to talk about — or be photographed with — hubby Chris Martin, but she may be doing the right thing — as Robin Wright Penn may attest.
After Star broke the news that Sean Penn was seen making out with Natalie Portman and the Oscar winner filed for separation from Robin, an interview with Robin — that she conducted prior to the split — has hit newsstands and she talks about the "reward" of marriage.
Promoting her indie film The Private Lives of Pippa Lee in Gotham magazine, the actress — who has endured Sean's serial straying throughout their almost two decades as a couple — talked about the m word, saying it's "work, but that's what you sign up for. And it pays off beautifully, it really does. The outcome, the reward is so great because then your love grows out of those hard times. You have a companion, a partner in it—you're going through the hard times together, and you come out on the other side. And another wave of difficulty will arise and you'll have that experience of how great the reward was last time. That conditioning of faith is what prevails."
