What should one always remember when covering a movie premiere where the likes of Ron Howard and Ellen Burstyn are in attendance? Have questions prepared for Sienna Miller! The Fashion Journal was working the press at City Cinemas 123 theatre Thursday night for the much awaited premiere of "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond." Bryce Dallas Howard looked stunning in her purple Donna Karan dress and Gaultier skirt touched off with Vintage YSL cuffs. Other names to attend were Laila Robbins, Celeste Home, Marin Ireland, Zoe Perry, Laurie Metcalfe (Who didn't hesitate to help Zoe Perry by checking the tag of her dress to let us pressies know Zoe was wearing BB Dakota, and ps Laurie was a super unexpected appearance but my favorite sighting!), John Jay from Gossip Girl, Director Jodie Markell and Jessica Collins who plays Lavinia in a shiny gold uber-large-sequined Cynthia Steffe dress that looked stellar. "I really don't follow it" when asked about fashion.
Yeah right Jess! Ellen Burstyn was all grace and ease and when I asked who her favorite designer for the holiday season is she responded "Blue jeans - and comfortable." Love it! Ron Howard was a charmer and despite being film royalty appeared completely without pretense and was more than happy to talk to The Fashion Journal. When asked what clothing item all of our gent readers MUST have in personal stock for the holidays, Ron answered, "You're sooo talking to the wrong guy. A coat. A warm coat. Shoes maybe." Okay. Ron is super nice and totes answering The Fashion Journals questions right now. I cannot let him go without more. So okay - we got deeper. I got the hint, Ron!! And because you're so nice to The Fashion Journal I'm following your lead! When asked what he thinks about his daughter in the lead role Ron said, "She's so committed to what she's doing and she's really an artist, you know? She takes a lot of chances and a lot of risks, and I have a lot of respect for her." Okay. Phew!!! Thank you Ron! Bryce takes after her father and was just as gracious with the presslings, discussing how she was drawn to the role because of its Tennessee Williams roots and admired the role of Fisher for her unapologetic nature. "I WISH I had some of those qualities!" Bryce giggles. "I feel like I'm always apologizing for myself and I wish I had that trait a little bit more..." Well you have nothing to apologize to The Fashion Journal about, Bryce. You're a pleasure to speak to! The movie slowly captured us all and definitely became a real goodie as it went on. I can't tell you anything about it as it isn't in theatres until December 30th, but I will say you MUST watch it through to the end and uninterrupted, and despite the anxious moments and holding-of-breath scenes, you'll be very pleased with the outcome! So, like, but okay... Erica and I are standing there waiting for Bryce and Ron and Ellen and the gang and the photographers start yelling Sienna! RAN-DOM. Someone clearly forgot to CC CK on THAT email. Good thing Sienna wasn't in the mood to talk because I had no questions for her!!!! She scurried past with Marin Ireland and went right into the screening. From now on though we have to always have three Sienna Miller questions ready because apparently she may pop-in at any moment!
