Amanda Peet celebrates her latest cover at the Plaza
Wednesday, August 06, 2008
(NEW YORK) What better venue to unveil the September issue of Gotham than the Plaza Hotel? The magazine, along with cover girl Amanda Peet, took over the fabled institution last night, when editor Christina Cuomo greeted guests like Sarah Paulson and Josh Strickland."I'm excited to be on the cover, sure! It's so glamorous. I wish my husband was here," said Peet, who splits her time between L.A. and New York ("lucky for us!" she said) with her husband, writer David Benioff, and daughter, 18-month-old Frankie. "But maybe it's kind of fun that he's not here!"
Luckily, Benihoff had a stand-in in the form of designer Thakoon Panichgul, responsible for his dear friend's dress. "She chopped it off by like six inches! It was longer, and it looks amazing," he said. "She loves to wear short things."And while Amanda may be busy promoting her films and covers, Panichgul is a bit crazed himself, given that Fashion Week is less than a month away. "I don't know if it's excitement," he laughed. "But it's something!"EMILY GYBEN
