Celebrity Scoops…updated 9/12/08
First to Report: Last night Hamptons Magazine and Gotham Magazine hosted a bash for Serena Williams at Pacha in Hell’s Kitchen, NYC to celebrate her 3rd US Open win. “It’s been so long since I’ve won the US Open, so I really wanted to win it again,” the tennis star told CelebrityEverything.com. As for her workouts, she says she does a combo of running, yoga, and stretch bands. “I don’t like running,” she notes, “But I do it because I have to.” When asked if she and Roger Federer share tennis tips, she responded: “He’s obviously a great player. I’m like his biggest fan. I’m not in a position to give him any advice, but he gave me one of his coats at Wimbledon so that was cool.” As for the one person she’d like to play with: “I would love to play tennis with Marilyn Monroe, even though she doesn’t exist; that would be really cool. She’s an icon and I like her. And about that rumor that she got her beau Common’s name tattooed on her booty, “I haven’t heard that rumor,” she roared. “OMG! Are you kidding?” No, we’re not. She also mentioned her fashion line, Aneres (‘Serena’ spelled backwards), is “doing good” and she’s off to a design meeting about it today.
EXCLUSIVE: “America’s Next Top Model” cycle 10 contestant Fatima Siad attended Serena’s US Open celebration last night in Manhattan. “It opened a lot of doors for me,” she told CelebrityEverything.com, referring to the TV show. “I wasn’t into modeling and now I am! I learned to know how to be confident in yourself. Tyra’s cool – she’s the woman. I think she’s very fair. She picks so many different girls, it shows you that there’s beauty in every look, so there’s always room for extra special people.” When asked, “Like Isis, the transvestite, this season?” she responded: “I don’t know if it’s for ratings, but I don’t know how I’d feel about that. It changes the whole game plan and it shows you that ‘America’s Next Top Model’ is going more into entertainment rather than real modeling, and I think there are a lot of girls who go on there and it’s good for publicity, but you don’t have to necessarily win to be a successful model because they just pick random people.” Do you detect a dig here, hmmm?
